Spring has returned. The Earth is like a child that knows poems. ~Rainer Maria Rilke

Walking with Mary Oliver in my Head and God at my feet.

"I don't know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,..." ( The dry creek is finally filled with fresh rain, making music over the old stones.)
"...,how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day...." ( look, from the oak leaf filled ground..., new life always returns, bringing strange, transient beauty...,)
( and amazing, springing shooting stars.)
"Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your wild and precious life?"

(from part of a poem by Mary Oliver. The words in parentheses are mine.)

  2. I plan to continue dancing and praising and rejoicing in what precious days I have left. Once I am crossed over there will be no need to look back.

Faith -- it keeps me going. Hope -- it keeps me rejoicing. Love -- it is the GREATEST!

This is a beautiful slice of poetry and your photos are like a dab of ice cream which increases the delight. Splendid gift! Thank you!

  3. So lovely. The creation declares the glory of God. How to pray? Prayer is silent talking, or out loud talking. It is you speaking your heart to Him who made you and already knows everything you think, everything you have ever done, and all you long for. He knows us all and each one individually because He is God. How do I know this? Because He has revealed His attributes in his word and he has also shown me who he is.
How do you know Him? Yes, be open to Him. Seek Him. Ask Him. Read his book, call his name. He is there.
