Walking by myself

~How I go to the woods~
by Mary Oliver

"Ordinarily, I go to the woods alone,

with not a single friend, for they are all smilers and talkers

 and therefore unsuitable.
I don’t really want to be witnessed talking to the catbirds

or hugging an old black oak tree.

I have my way of praying, as you no doubt have yours.
Besides, when I am alone I can become invisible.
If you have ever gone to the woods with me, I must love
you very much.”

  2. Usually when someone pops in my head regardless of what I'm doing, I consider it a God's whisper telling me to either call, pray or just let them hear from me. I bet you think of loved ones along your walk as well. Peaceful post :)

  3. Hello Connie! My walks are my meditation. It is there where I pray in many forms. These days I treasure my walks with Griffin as I know they will not be forever. It is where I search for things within myself and outside myself....think birds nests! I hope you are well and enjoying these winter days. Take care, :0) k
