Morning Rain

"A slight rain comes, bathed in dawn light.
I hear it among treetop leaves before mist arrives.
Soon it sprinkles the soil
and,windblown, follows clouds away.
Deepened colors grace thatch homes for a moment.
Flocks and herds of things wild
glisten faintly.
Then the scent of musk opens across
half a mountain -- and lingers on past noon."
Yes, the rain has come.
And I find myself inside of it.
Do you see?
I DO see you! Very clever! Breathtaking photos...thanks for taking the time to post them.

Like angels dancing on the head of a pin! Glad you're rain is gentle...ours is ferocious and biting, all icy and cold. BTW, thanks for the nice comment on my post today. I wondered if my words were a bit too strong...
ReplyDeleteYes! I see :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, as always. I'm so impressed by the weathered edge of the barrel planter. It has "character", like the lines in our faces as we age :)
Well no, but I need new reading glasses. Some darn purdy pictures though! I especially like the first one....
ReplyDeleteLovely!

I love the rain. Living here on the 'wet coast' it's part of me. I go out in it, stay inside and look out at it and love the smell and even the feel of it on the wettest of days.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely prose to go with the rain. I'll bet you're happy to see it as well?
