The Big Ouch

Cutter took a trip to the Vets yesterday. We did the dirty deed and had him neutered. He's not happy about it.

Carl doesn't know what to think. He has forgotten about the same trip that he took over a year ago. He just doesn't understand why "Cut cut" is being contained in the pen and can't run outside with him.

"Cutter! Are you sticking your tongue out at me? You will be a better man for this. No more wanting something you can't have. In a few days you'll feel fine. Now, get that tongue back in your mouth. It'll be OK."

  2. Cut-Cut got the cut-cut. Poor thing. I remember when Elvis got it. I also had him declawed in the front claws cause he was tearing up furniture and walls. He was so angry! The vet wouldn't even bring him out. I had to go in the back and get him myself cause they were scared of him. I was in the army, and had to call my sergeant to tell him I was gonna be late! His feet were still bleeding a little, and I felt awful. But my furniture and, more importantly, rental home, were quite thankful. Now, at 8 years old, he only lays on the bed, sofa, or front porch! He loves to get rubbed in the middle of the night, though. He wakes me up for it!

  4. Good thing dogs cannot talk. I am sure you would get a good talking to about all this.

  5. Maybe you should read some Calvin and Hobbs to Cutter to cheer him up...poor little guy...but you know getting snipped is much better than getting a bad rep for fighting and carousing all night!

It always breaks my heart to get my animals "fixed", but it's something that needs to be done, isn't it?

  8. Congratulations Cutter, you're a brave boy. Bob Barker and Betty White would be very proud of you. But, are you thinking what I'm thinking? That after that trip to the vet, it gives your nickname, "Cut cut", a whole new meaning!!

  10. Oh, I didn't have time to comment yesterday, but little baby Cutter-boy was so pathetically cute in his cage. I'm sure his Mom is giving him the first class spoiling treatment during his convalescence. You and The Prospector are the ultimate dog parents in the care dept. of life. Carl must be missing his playmate though, the little scamp!
