It was, as I have said, a fine autumnal day; the sky was clear and serene, and nature wore that rich and golden livery which we always associate with the idea of abundance. The forests had put on their sober brown and yellow, while some trees of the tenderer kind had been nipped by the frosts into brilliant dyes of orange, purple, and scarlet.... As Ichabod jogged slowly on his way, his eye... ranged with delight over the treasures of jolly autumn. ~Washington Irving, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow"

I told you so.

Did I not tell you what the really motives were for my sister's visit?

Was it the wonderful new restaurant on Main Street with the great homemade salsa and chips? The Antique stores? The laughing over how we seem to make shorter trips downtown and how the menus have "smaller" writing? How life is going by so fast and every morning wakes us with a new ache in our bodies?..a new hitch in our hips?

Was it the beautiful walk Sunday morning in the warm sunshine and a cat named Annibel, who followed us up to Maggie's resting place? The green, grass covered hills and the loveliness of a California Spring?
Probably, all of this. She left with a bigger smile on her face and a promise to come back soon...
...but mostly ,that first photo says it all.

Well, that ALL just sounds too marvelous for words! Including the Corgi love. So - inquiring minds want to know - what restaurant was that? And did you two find anything fabulous at the antique shops?? (And where are those shops?)

What precious pups! It sounds as though you and your sis had a grand time together. Just reading your post makes me want to see my sister and share those special moments only sisters can. Thank you for sharing. I so look forward to having you in our Charming Romance class next month.
Take care.

I found it funny what you said about your sisters real reason for visiting was to get her corgi fix. I say that the reason I go to visit Theresa is to get my grand puppy fix.
