"So prayer is our sometimes real selves trying to communicate with the Real, with Truth, with the Light. It is us reaching out to be heard, hoping to be found by a light and warmth in the world, instead of darkness and cold. Even mushrooms respond to light - I suppose they blink their mushroomy eyes, like the rest of us."

What a lady!

This photo is for my family and friends. I took it of my Mom in front of the Sunnyvale Care Home where she is staying for a while until she recovers from her fall. This was the second day and she was still not sure that she wanted to be here, but she smiled for the camera. That's our Mom: The lady was dressed, had her makeup on ( and lipstick ), wanted to sit outside and she told me to be sure that the door to the garage, at home, was open for the cat. "Be sure you make a bed for Honey on top of the dryer and keep her bowl filled with kibble." What a lady!

  1. She's darling. My Mom doesn't do the makeup dealie bob but she would be up and at em!! Seems that generation has much more fortitude than ours.
I know she misses her kitty and her home, glad you could be there (along with your sister to cheer her on.) Hope she won't have to stay "forever". Sending blessings your way.

  2. From the pic the place looks nice and sunny. Maybe you can get a good picture of her kitty for her to keep in her room... or a beanie baby that looks like her.

  3. shes lovely! and make sure you take care of her cat :)

  4. I remember YEARS ago you gave me a salad dressing recipe that called for white pepper. The recipe originally came from your mom and I asked you if your mom really used white pepper or if black was okay. You looked like you were thinking and said that no, she used white pepper. I remember saying---because she is a lady???--and you answered yes, because she is a lady.

  5. how nice that she wotrries about her cat. Treasure you Mom.for I really miss my Mom.

  6. she's lovely and it sounds like she does need to stay there for a while, take it day by day. since it's sucha small plac wouldn't they like a little cat?

  7. .....And what a lovely lady your mom is. Sending prayers up that she will have a speedy recovery and be able to go home soon.

    Big hugs Elly Mae.

  8. Your mom is a very lovely lady. My prayers are still with you both.

  9. I will keep your mother's speedy recovery in my prayers.
