It was, as I have said, a fine autumnal day; the sky was clear and serene, and nature wore that rich and golden livery which we always associate with the idea of abundance. The forests had put on their sober brown and yellow, while some trees of the tenderer kind had been nipped by the frosts into brilliant dyes of orange, purple, and scarlet.... As Ichabod jogged slowly on his way, his eye... ranged with delight over the treasures of jolly autumn. ~Washington Irving, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow"

Lovely. " . . . . Each sound is seen."

I'm so ready. This morning we have Robins in full voice.

Ahhhhh . . .

Are the pictures in your collage from your area? How wonderful.

Thanks for your comment. I'm never really ready for Winter to be over with because we have such mild ones here, but when spring comes, it's with such splendor and frill that I'm overwhelmed by the beauty of it all.

"Ahhhhh...", is a perfect way to describe what is seen and heard.

I took these photos in Amador county, California; close to where I live.
