Funny thing is that Griffin ALWAYS has to steal one of my gloves on the way home from our walks in winter. It's the same thing where it's a ritual and I let him do it and chase him around while he shakes it in his mouth to 'kill' it! Crazy kids!Kerry O'Gormanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14951445594586971908noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1170972260275595837.post-7781699365264519732011-03-14T18:25:21.714-07:002011-03-14T18:25:21.714-07:00Guess what kind of plants they have at MY WalMart?...Guess what kind of plants they have at MY WalMart? Annualata zilchonium. That’s Latin (?) for “NOTHING”!!!
It’s just about impossible not to get spring fever when you look at those beautiful plant catalogs and/or seed packets. I don’t know how much of this I can stand. It makes me so impatient; I want to go out and work in my yard but there is still a foot of snow on the ground! I hope you will share lots of pictures of your “cottage” garden (my favorite kind!) this summer.
I could be wrong but in your pictures it looks to me like the small pansies are Johnny-jump-ups; one of my favorite flowers-----very prolific (self-sowing) and they jump-up in some of the darnedest places. Even after our very cold winters I will have at least a few of last year’s JJUs popping up here and there. I love to see those little yellow and purple, and sometimes orange heads, popping up in my lawn!! They’re edible you know!
I’m with you about loving to feel the soil. And don’t you love the smell of fresh-turned dirt?
I chuckled over your game of chase with Carl and I almost shed a tear for poor little Brownie. I know it’s nature’s way, but still . . . . .
Wishing you and Brownie less painful days. ~DawnCharming Bagladynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1170972260275595837.post-11988393930676136812011-03-14T16:58:19.889-07:002011-03-14T16:58:19.889-07:00I sympathize with you about the aches from over-do...I sympathize with you about the aches from over-doing the first day in the garden. But it does look terrific, if that helps lessen the pain. Your flowers are beautiful!

Set back and rest, you deserve it!The 4 Bushel Farmgalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17377555500812602424noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1170972260275595837.post-30973995569162459472011-03-14T15:54:44.552-07:002011-03-14T15:54:44.552-07:00LOVE this post! Ah, but that first ripe tomato....and you forget the aches for a while. :)Tina Mardishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03788110424113759113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1170972260275595837.post-67488111041539303202011-03-14T15:37:45.431-07:002011-03-14T15:37:45.431-07:00Your flowers are beautiful. I have filled all my flower pots with more potting soil and have started some flower seeds in the house. I am afraid to plant things outdoors yet because we can still get a freeze. Like you I am anxious to get out and work and plant in my garden. Your dogs are so cute I can just see Carl running off with your glove. The pictures are great and I really enjoyed this post. Have a blessed evening. MadelineMadeline's Albumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12521816495696902218noreply@blogger.com
