I prefer winter and Fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape — the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn’t show. ~Andrew Wyeth

A little dog named Lizzy

Do you see her?
Her name is Lizzy.
This was her first visit to our home.
She's a very big dog in a very little body.
I think our Corgi boys wore her out.
She ran in the garden with them...
ate Thanksgiving Dinner with them...
ran around with them everywhere.

So, when she napped...
She napped hard.

I think she was happy to be heading home.

Guarding her own territory will be easier.
This was a great adventure, but there's no place like home.

  1. I haven't been around much, but so good to see your beautiful page again. You've been having fun taking some gorgeous photographs. I love your "road home," and the Japanese Haiku is a wonderful. I've bookmarked the page at the link so I can study further. It is a specific form that really is difficult to master. Your header photograph is beautiful. Love that fan ...
