A heart goes out to Japan...

As we fed our goats and changed Brownies bandages this morning...
And I told him everything was going to be OK.

petting him while we stood next to each other..
we heard that half way around the world an earthquake hit the island of Japan. An earthquake so devastating that the effects of it are spreading all the way across the Pacific Ocean.

"Japanese media reported that at least 1,000 were believed dead, thousands more injured and tens of thousands displaced by the three-story wall of water that crushed their homes and brought much of the modern country to a standstill.
Aftershocks from Friday's 8.9-magnitude temblor and additional earthquakes as strong as 6.6 jolted the country before dawn.
Fires raged in the northeastern cities of Kesennuma and Sendai, with blazing buildings floating in the waters left by retreated tsunami waves that towered as high as three stories." (Los Angeles News)

We know that this can happen anywhere and to anyone. Nature is always changing . This is a painful example of what this earth can do to mankind. It's a sadness that stretches around the world.

"The Fundamental delusion of humanity is to suppose that I am here and you are out there." ~Yasutani Roshi~
We are all in this together....
and we send our hearts to the Japanese people....

  3. I agree with your prayers for the Japanese people, and your goat looks so sad. I hope he isn't in pain; I assume not. I am praying also that the nuclear power plant will be shut down successfully. I can see you are a kind person and a kindred spirit.
Here is my favorite scripture for all the hurting world "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things, and be in health, just as your soul prospers." 3 John 2 NKJV

  5. The videos of Japan I have seen are so devastating. It is hard to imagine the scale... I don't "know" what I am praying, just that I am.

  6. Watching the videos of Japan felt like the 9/11 footage. Horrified and helpless. My first thoughts and prayers are for the people. My second is, "Lord, is there some way I can help?"

  9. My heart breaks for the Japanese people. I have a dear friend who still has relatives in the area directly hit, as well as in Tokyo and Nagoya... It's a very frightening thing, but she's coping.
And now that the power plants are at extreme risk, it will no longer be a 'localized" problem.
I suggest getting (and taking) iodine tablets as soon as possible, because the radiation will drift. :(

  10. A BIG reminder of where we live, on this Pacific Ring of Fire. We had Tsunami warnings here and the town an hour away was evacuated, just in case. Mother nature can really dish out the shite. Sometimes I feel like it's the earth, tired of what we've done to her and puking it all up. My heart aches for all affected as well.
