It was, as I have said, a fine autumnal day; the sky was clear and serene, and nature wore that rich and golden livery which we always associate with the idea of abundance. The forests had put on their sober brown and yellow, while some trees of the tenderer kind had been nipped by the frosts into brilliant dyes of orange, purple, and scarlet.... As Ichabod jogged slowly on his way, his eye... ranged with delight over the treasures of jolly autumn. ~Washington Irving, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow"

Wordless Wednesday: "I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year." ~ Charles Dickens (1812-1870),

I so wish I could get into decorating...I always enjoyed it, but the problem is I lost the 'joy', and have not found it...what do you call the style of decorations you used? I love this, but call it cottage, or country?

OMG---I LOVE your decorations. You are a girl after my own heart. I especially love the rabbit; she is so ME. Cute as she is in your house, I think she would look MUCH BETTER in Michigan!!! ~Dawn

Your Christmas decorations are beautiful. I always enjoy seeing how other people decorate for Christmas. Have a blessed evening. Madeline

The thing I like about the decorations
is the way they originate from a certain
time each. We have a lot of weird ones,
like the evil haunted tiny book and the
plastic dog who is Santa's accountant
(his head falls off from the list)

Your ornaments made me smile! Reminds me of one of the first trees we had. And the little snow on your pics is adorable. How'd you do that?! :-)
I finally finished decorating for Christmas. I didn't go all out this year and I'm finally ok with that. Heck, what I did wore me out!

Oh Farmlady you are miles ahead of me, I haven't even begun & even then I think it will be very minimalist with a baby running around!
Your tree is lovely, sweet & old fashioned.

We are alike in so many ways...I've always collected decorations, since my first tree, that were meaningful and special. No balls and tinsel for me. Your collection is beautiful!!
